The modular system of the PATURA calf box is constantly evolving in parallel with the demands of modern agriculture. Keeping calves in pairs from the first day of life has a positive effect on the development of the calves, as confirmed by many experts. Mutual learning from each other and promoting social contact with each other are the top priority. Above all, the intake of roughage and water is promoted by the calves living together and leads to more vital calves with higher daily weight gain.
The newly chosen width of the PATURA calf box of 1.54 m ensures sufficient space and forms the basis for keeping the calves in pairs. The central element of the calf box is the access door, which is designed with a total of 2 feeding places for feeding with teat drinking buckets and is also designed for automatic feeding. All other products have been adapted to the dimensions for pair housing and work according to the tried and tested modular system of the PATURA calf box. As usual, this can be converted into group housing by pulling out the side walls.
